ACR Receives National Performance Review Hammer Award
The workshops train mammography facility personnel to better understand and implement the regulations of MQSA in an effort to provide quality mammography and improve breast cancer detection. Other members of the team included the FDA's Office of Regulatory Affairs, the CDRH's Division of Mammography Quality and Radiation Programs, and the states and counties represented by the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors.
On Oct. 30, the ACR's Mammography Accreditation Program received the National Performance Review Hammer Award during the Georgia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program meeting. This Award recognizes successful contributions to the process of re-inventing government by streamlining processes and cutting costs. The Hammer Award was presented to the "Mammography Workshops for Mammography Facilities Team," of which the ACR was a member, for "demonstrating an extraordinary example of a proactive method of educating personnel working at mammography facilities across the United States."
