2009 College Nominating Committee Results


At the ACR Annual Meeting and Chapter Leadership Conference (AMCLC) in Washington, D.C., the ACR Council elected the following candidates.

Officer Position Nominees

  • Carol M. Rumack, M.D., of Denver, for president
  • R. Terrell Frey, M.D., of Cincinnati, for vice president

Board of Chancellors

The Council re-elected:

  • Cassandra S. Foens, M.D., of Waterloo, Iowa, to serve a second three-year term on the BOC.
  • Donald P. Frush, M.D., of Durham, N.C., to serve a second three-year term to chair the Commission on Pediatrics.
  • James M. Hevezi, Ph.D., of Miami, to serve for a second three-year term chair the Commission on Medical Physics.

The Council elected the following members to the Board of Chancellors:

  • Bibb Allen Jr., M.D., of Birmingham, Ala. to serve for a first three-year term and chair the Commission on Economics

  • David C. Kushner, M.D., of Virginia Beach, Va., to serve a first three-year term and chair the Commission on Membership and Communications.

Council Speaker

  • Alan D. Kaye, M.D., of Bridgeport, Conn., was elected to serve for a first two-year term as Council speaker.

Council Vice Speaker

  • Howard B. Fleishon M.D., MMM, of Phoenix, was elected to serve a two-year term as Council vice speaker.

Council Steering Committee

The following were selected to serve a two-year term on the Council Steering Committee:

  • Kimberly E. Applegate, M.D., M.S., of Indianapolis
  • Philip S. Cook, M.D., of Sarasota, Fla.
  • Jay A. Harolds, M.D., of Oklahoma City, Okla.
  • Richard N. Taxin, M.D., of Rose Valley, Pa.

College Nominating Committee

The following three were elected to serve a two-year term on the CNC:

  • Laurie L. Fajardo, M.D., M.B.A., of Iowa City, Iowa
  • Susan D. John, M.D., of Houston
  • Seth A. Rosenthal, M.D., of Sacramento, Calif.

Members-in-Training

The following were elected to attend the 2009 Summer Conference:

  • Marion Brody, M.D., of Wynnewood, Pa.
  • Stephanie K. Burns, M.D., of San Antonio

Selected Positions

Board of Chancellors – Radiological Society of North America

The CNC, in consultation with the Chair of the BOC, selected Burton P. Drayer, M.D., of New York, to serve a first three-year term on the BOC as the representative from the Radiological Society of North America.

Private Practice Representative

R. Drake Beauchamp, M.D., of Corpus Christi, Texas, was selected for one two-year term as representative to the Intersociety Summer Conference effective July 2009.
