Foreign Radiologists Interested in U.S. Jobs

The ACR Task Force on Human Resources addressed radiologist shortage issues in its 2001 report (see document below). One subcommittee examined the feasibility and impact of attracting foreign-born radiologists to the U.S. radiology workforce.

The task force is pleased to offer ACR members and the radiology community the following links to information regarding three key areas that foreign-born radiologists, and practices interested in hiring them, must confront:

  • obtaining a visa to work in the United States,
  • obtaining a state license to practice medicine in a given state, and
  • pursuing board certification.

The ACR does not assume any responsibility for the accuracy or completeness of these sites.
