Accountable Care Organizations
The Patient Protection Affordable Care Act (PPACA) mandates that the Secretary of Health and Human Services develop Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). ACOs will serve as an intermediary of care between patients and physicians and hospitals and also of payment between the payers and providers of care. The American College of Radiology is working on resources to help our members understand and thrive in a new health care environment. Below are resources that are currently available on the subject of accountable care organizations. The ACR will continue to add to this section of the website as further resources become available.
