ACR Urges CMS to Reconsider Proposed National Coverage Restrictions on Cardiac CTA
The American College of Radiology (ACR) submitted comments to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in opposition of the proposed National Coverage Decision that limits coverage on computed tomographic angiography (CTA) of the coronaries.
The College strongly urged CMS to retain the existing local coverage policies in lieu of their national proposal for coverage with evidence development that would ultimately limit patient access to care for clinically appropriate indications.
The joint letter to CMS was signed by the ACR, American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, North American Society of Cardiovascular Imaging, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
