ACR Commissions and Committees

The Board of Chancellors may establish commissions, committees and task forces, reporting to the Board, to aid in carrying on specific activities of the College. (ACR Bylaws, Article VIII, Section 11)

In 1991, the Board of Chancellors decided to restructure commission and committee activites to reflect the operational activities of the College.  Commissions are divided into Operational Commissions and Specialty Commissions.  To allow for horizontal integration each Specialty Commission has a committee structure which parallels that of operational committees.

Appointees to commissions, committees or tasks forces may be from any category of ACR membership.  Non-members may only be appointed to serve in they are ineligible for ACR membership.  Regardless of membership status, all appointees to commissions, committees or task forces must be approved by the chair of the Board of Chancellors.

Each year the ACR appoints members to serve on commissions, committees, and task forces. Task forces are created at the ACR annual meeting on a need to have basis.
