The ACR state government relations program takes a proactive approach to legislative and regulatory trends across the country and assists chapters with state-level legislative and regulatory initiatives. We accomplish this by monitoring legislation and coordinating communication and sharing of resources among chapters.
ACR staff monitors hundreds of radiology-related bills introduced in state legislatures each year. Issues we track include teleradiology licensing and practice requirements, certificate of need (CON) laws, billing issues, radiologist assistant licensure and medical liability reform. The ACR State Government Relations Committee serves as an additional resource for other important issues on the state level.
