The America Speaks: Radiology Saves Lives initiative provides policymakers and the public with essential information about imaging, how current federal policies are affecting its affordability and accessibility, and how future decisions can impact whether Medicare beneficiaries have access to this vital medical technology.

MPPR

Application of an MPPR to the professional component of diagnostic imaging services performed on the same patient on the same day is an arbitrary and imprecise tool to control Medicare spending. Imposition of this policy will make it difficult for radiologists to keep free-standing imaging facilities open for business, threatening patient access to diagnostic imaging services.

Take Action

America Speaks: Poll Data

We conducted a nationally representative poll of 1,000 registered voters. Americans spoke – and these are a few of the things they told us:

  • 81% said that diagnostic imaging is absolutely essential to proper diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions and diseases
  • 70% said no to Medicare cuts to imaging services
  • 90% said that imaging cuts will have an impact on early detection of medical conditions and diseases

Americans said that radiology is absolutely essential to proper early detection, diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions and they do not want to see it cut. They told us that Radiology Saves Lives.
